Make the Most of the Summer – Do the Dog Friendly Thing!

By / June 24, 2016 / / 0 Comments

Apparently, summer has officially landed (anyone seen it? Think I’ve lost mine). Anyhow, come rain or shine, we love nothing more than packing a picnic and donning our summer finery to attend family and dog friendly outdoor events. There are bound to be fetes and fayres in your local area,  but we’ve found a few larger events taking place across the UK that we’d like to share with you.

Scoop Dotty Dog attended the last ‘The Big Scoop’ at Dinton Pastures, Hurst, Berkshire on June 19th. We had a stand for the day where we gave advice about responsible dog ownership in regards to poo picking and to spread the word about the good work we do. The event itself is to promote this very same message, so we were delighted to be a part of it. Lots of activities for dogs, and plenty to do and see. It was a very enjoyable day and we’re looking forward to joining the event again next year.

If you fancy getting away this weekend for a day trip, check out DogFest South in Windsor Great park from 25th – 26th June. Hosted by TV vet Noel Fitzpatrick, DogFest offers dogs and their owners the ultimate fun-filled weekend. Your dog can take part in a number of different activities, including flyball, agility training and pampering sessions, to name a few. Looks like great fun, and a local one to us, too!

If you’re in the West Country or holidaying there between 1st – 4th July, then why not head down to Whitehill Country Park Dogtastic Weekend in Devon? The event boasts a host of woofing-good fun for you and your four-legged friends with three days of dog-tastic action for the family. Fun dog show, doggy treats and entertainment for the whole family await you at this dog-tastic day of doggy debauchery!

For well-behaved dogs only (the event organisers words, not ours!) then head to Cambridgeshire for Just Dogs Live between the 8th – 10th July. Claiming to be the leading dog event in the country, at Just Dogs Live you can enter your dog in many a have-a-go activity. Over 3 days you can view the prestigious Championship Dog Show which is a Crufts qualifier, dog agility, flyball, gundog scurry plus much more.

With so many dog-friendly events to choose from this summer, be sure to attend at least one – we’re sure your dog will thank you for it! As always, remember to scoop your poop! You never know, you may bump into a Scoop Dotty Dog representative at these events, feel free to show your support!

If you have any favourite dog-friendly events you’re attending this year, we’d love to hear about them. Please use the comments box below to get in touch!
